1. Thank you Microsoft for improving your crappy Windows Vista and repackaging it as Windows 7 so it received very positive reviews from industry specialists. Even though I was never more relieved than when I started using a Mac about four years ago, I am wishing you well. I hope that the new system is really as good as you (and other reviewers) claim, so people won’t grow angry with you anymore.
2. Thank you Google for creating Android Mobile Operating System, the only reasonable alternative to iPhone’s easy, reliable, and beautiful Mac OS X Mobile. Fortunately you decided to keep it open, and support it with all your strengths by building new and improving existing applications. The new gorgeous and free(!) navigation app looks better than iPhone Maps, as well as other pricey commercial products such as TomTom Mobile.
Dear Apple,
Why am I thankful for everything what makes you unhappy? Because I support innovation, and I don’t believe that you have a patent to be called the most inventive company in the world. I disagree with your policy of keeping perfectly good third-party applications (such as Google Voice) from making iPhone customers happy. We (the customers) don’t owe you anything. We deserve the right to enjoy them to the fullest extent if there is anyone willing to contribute to this happiness.
Hence instead of discarding others’ creativity, now you should rethink your strategy. Yes, I like the evolution of the Snow Leopard, iPhone 3Gs, and new iMac line. Yet, you must remember that as competition is stepping on your toes pretty hard you must make a step forward and do things you used to do best – revolutionize, invent, and blow peoples’ heads with products nobody else can offer.
Wishing you all the best, and still planning to get the 27” iMac one day,
Krzysztof (Chris) Cyganik
